Did you know that May is Mental Health Awareness Month and next week is Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week?
These public awareness campaigns are intended to help expel myths, inform the public, and show support for the millions of people affected by mental health issues. At Healthy Minds’, we want to do our part to help spread the word about these important campaigns throughout Las Vegas and southern Nevada.
Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week
With Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week coming up, we also want to share information provided by the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), such as their Facts for Families fact sheets that provide information on issues affecting children, teenagers, and families.
AACAP’s Top Facts for Families include the following informational guides that we suggest everyone read:
- TV Violence and Children
- Video Games and Children: Playing with Violence
- Suicide in Children and Teens
- Teens: Alcohol and Other Drugs
- Obesity in Children and Teens
Please help support mental health awareness — and children’s mental health awareness — by sharing this information with your friends, family, and colleagues. Your participation makes a difference!
Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week at Healthy Minds
To help spur conversations about Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week while also encouraging Healthy Minds employees to “be themselves,” we’re having a little fun in the office next week:
- Tuesday is “Tacky Clothes Day”
- Wednesday is “Wacky Hair Day”
- Thursday is “Wear Green Day”
- Friday is “Mustache Day”
We’ll post photos soon!
